This two-mana Angel comes down quickly, which is rare among the many higher mana value creatures, and helps you cast those bigger spells, since you can tap her to add a white mana that can only be used on Angel spells
This is possible against Burning Abyss for example, though that deck honestly isnt very scary for this deck to deal with since they dont have particularly good options against this deck.

The extra land drop doesnt look like much, but it helps tremendously
Obviously black has ample cards to animate him, but other then something like Bitterblossom or Bloodghast, its hard to pay the cost of lets say a Bloodsoaked Champion, Scrapheap Scrounger or even Gravecrawler on top of the already 1B to fire him up every turn
